'Drowning Pool'

she wears a smile
that does not reach her eyes
getting by
on platitudes and lies

everything
feels so damn unreal
dizzying
a ship gone off its keel

poking holes
into this false facade
eggshelling here
where once the giants trod

tearing now
at truth and lies and seams
entering
the world behind the scenes

maddening
with all the sense it makes
an offering
my sanity it takes

and now I see
the wonder of the worlds
the majesty
of life as it unfurls

the sweet sublime,
destruction breaking down
it pulls me in
(and) I let myself be drown
